Every gymnastics medal stands for hours of practice, nerves on competition day and a routine they worked hard to land. Yet so many end up in a drawer or tangled on a door handle. Here are simple ways to display gymnastics medals so they can be seen, enjoyed and added to.
1. Use a dedicated medal holder
A wall-mounted medal holder (sometimes called a medal hanger or medal rack) is the tidiest way to keep a growing collection together. Look for one with separate arms or hooks so ribbons do not tangle, and enough space to keep adding medals as the seasons go on.
Our ChalkBuddy® Personalised Medal Holder is 3D-printed in our Welsh workshop with the gymnast's name on the nameplate, a waving Buddy character on top and arms for hanging medal ribbons. It comes in Hot Pink, Lavender, Mint Green, Baby Blue and Baby Pink.
2. Make it personal
A name on the display turns a storage solution into something they are proud of. Personalisation also makes a medal holder a thoughtful gift for birthdays, Christmas or the end of a competition season. See more ideas in our personalised gymnastics gifts guide.
3. Group by season or competition
If your gymnast competes a lot, try arranging medals by season, level or event. It becomes a visual timeline of their progress, which is great motivation on the days training feels hard.
4. Keep ribbons neat
- Hang ribbons straight rather than looping them, so they do not crease or tangle.
- Leave a little space between medals so they do not knock against each other.
- Rotate older medals to the back or a second display as the collection grows.
5. Pick the right spot
A bedroom wall or above a desk keeps medals somewhere they will see every day. Fix any wall-mounted display securely and at a sensible height, especially in a younger child's room, and follow the fixing guidance supplied with the product.
6. Add photos and competition numbers
A photo from the competition or their number pinned beside the medals adds to the story. It is a lovely way to remember the day, not just the result.
