ABOUT US

Gymnastics. Reimagined.

Gymatics didn’t begin with a business plan to launch another gymnastics brand. It grew from our own family, a love of sport and a habit of looking at things and wondering if there was a better way to do them.

OUR STORY

It started with one simple question: could we make it better?

Before Gymatics, sport had already been a huge part of my life.

I spent more than 20 years involved in dog agility, competing at a high level before going on to become a Kennel Club judge and trainer. Later, I spent seven years working in logistics, including running my own operation. They may seem like completely different worlds, but both taught me a lot about performance, problem-solving and finding practical ways to make things work better.

Then my daughter Francesca found gymnastics.

Like most parents, I initially experienced the sport from the outside — training sessions, competitions, equipment, chalk, kit bags and all the little routines that become normal when gymnastics becomes part of family life.

I started noticing things that could be improved.

That curiosity eventually became Gymatics.

What began as an idea for one product became ChalkBuddy®, and from there we just kept going. New ideas led to new prototypes, plenty of failed versions, constant changes and eventually a growing range of products of our own.

Gymatics officially began trading in 2025. It has grown much faster than we expected, but it is still very much the same family business behind the scenes.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND IT

Meet the family behind Gymatics.

There isn’t a huge corporate team behind the website. Gymatics is run day-to-day by our family, with everyone playing a different part.

01 →

ANDREW DICKENS — FOUNDER

I started Gymatics and spend most of my time somewhere between developing products, running production, solving problems and working out what we should create next.

02 →

AMEE NAISH — MARKETING & SOCIAL

Amee looks after much of the personality you see from Gymatics, from social content and ideas to keeping us connected with customers and the wider gymnastics community.

FRANCESCA DICKENS — GYMNAST & PRODUCT TESTER

Francesca is one of the reasons Gymatics exists. As a competitive gymnast, she also gives us the kind of product feedback you can’t get from sitting behind a desk.

BEHIND THE PRODUCTS

Most ideas start with a conversation.

There isn’t a complicated development department. Usually someone notices something, asks a question and we start experimenting.

01

01 — AN IDEA

Sometimes it comes from our own experience and sometimes it comes directly from a gymnast, parent or club.

02

02 — TRY IT

We design and prototype it ourselves, which means the first version is rarely the last.

03

03 — USE IT

Products need to make sense away from a computer screen, so real-world feedback matters.

04

04 — CHANGE IT

We regularly alter products after launch. If we find a better way of doing something, we'd rather improve it than leave it alone.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

Still small. Just doing a lot more.

Gymatics has grown from that first idea into a much wider range of gymnastics products and accessories.

Today we're designing new products, manufacturing much of our original range ourselves, supplying individual gymnasts and families, working with clubs and retailers and sending Gymatics products well beyond the UK.

Our base is in South Wales, where the business is run and much of our production takes place.

Growth has changed the scale of what we do, but not really how we do it. We still develop products ourselves, pack orders ourselves, answer customers ourselves and probably spend far too much time discussing tiny changes to things most people would never notice.

WHAT GYMATICS IS

We'd rather create something useful than add another product for the sake of it.

Gymatics isn't about having the biggest catalogue. We like products with an idea behind them — something that solves a problem, makes training a little easier, adds some personality or simply does an existing job better. Some ideas work. Some don't. Some get redesigned more times than we'd care to admit. That's probably the most accurate description of Gymatics: we're always making, testing, changing and thinking about what comes next.
